Named for the late Larry Savala, Jr., Larry's Gift Foundation began as a compassion network of family and friends dedicated to assisting needy families around the world. The mission has grown to include people from the Houston community and beyond and is directed by Larry's mother, Amalia Savala, an elementary school teacher and bilingual student educator.
Larry lost his life on August 16, 2006 at the age of 26. He was a celebrated young entrepreneur and bartender who loved his family and friends. Larry's sincere faith and deep concern for others were the reasons so many people came to love and appreciate him. Larry's Gift Foundation is intended to be an extension of the selflessness and kindness that he exhibited towards his family, friends and strangers alike.
